Process
What you see at a cut edge
The body is tinted to match the face; the surface detail is printed.
Mitres, waterfall edges and sink cut-outs all show the body. Ours is tinted to match the face, so cut edges keep the look.
Printed surface detail
A thin, digitally printed layer adds the fine veining you see on the face.
Tinted body
The body is tinted to match the face, so a cut edge echoes the design instead of showing a plain white core.
Compare
Five routes to a luxury-stone look
See how each route compares on the face, the cut edge and fabrication.
| Route | Face | Cut edge | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Natural luxury stone | Natural | Natural | Every slab differs; price and supply depend on the quarry and the block. |
| Sintered stone and porcelain slabs | Digitally printed, high detail | Body usually a plain tone | Hard, thin panels; mitres and edge repairs need specialist handling. |
| Conventional quartz | Granules and broad veins | Same mix as the face | Fine luxury-stone veining is hard to reproduce. |
| Surface-printed quartz | Digitally printed, high detail | Plain core at cuts | Sink cut-outs, mitres and waterfall edges expose the core. |
| Eterna Stone | High-detail digital print | Body tinted to match the face | Made for countertops, islands, vanities and walls. |

Color
Color management by measurement
For each ink set and board we print measurement charts, read every patch with a spectrophotometer and build a color model from the spectra. Designs are converted through that model, not tuned by eye on a screen.
Colors are matched for a specified viewing light. Under other lights any printed surface can shift, so production is matched to the physical proof you approve.
Veining that meets at the joint
A bookmatched pair lets the pattern continue across a joint on walls and wide tops. Ask for bookmatched slabs when you request a quote.
